Vinton Field of Honor® — Honoring Those Who Serve, Sacrifice & Protect

In this historic 250th anniversary year of the United States, the Town of Vinton proudly hosts a Field of Honor® at the Vinton War Memorial from November 6–21. Hundreds of U.S. flags will stand in tribute to Veterans, Active-Duty Service Members, and all who have served our nation.

This year also marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, a moment that forever changed our understanding of service, sacrifice and courage. As we recognize the proud anniversaries of America’s military branches, the Field of Honor® reminds us of the generations who have answered the call and the freedoms their service has helped preserve.

Each flag represents a person, a story and a reason to remember. The community is invited to dedicate a flag in honor or memory of a Veteran, make a donation, or become an event sponsor, with proceeds benefiting Moms Against Veteran Suicide.

The Field of Honor® is free and open to the public. Come walk among the flags, reflect on the names, and take a moment to consider the people behind the uniform—and what their service has made possible.

Volunteers Needed: Help place the flags on the Vinton War Memorial lawn. To volunteer, email dcollins@vintonva.gov.

Come walk the field. Honor their service. Remember their sacrifice. Celebrate America.
