Vinton Field of Honor® — 250 Years of Freedom

In this historic 250th anniversary year of the United States, the Town of Vinton proudly hosts a Field of Honor® at the Vinton Municipal Building from November 6–21. Hundreds of U.S. flags will stand in tribute to Veterans, Active-Duty Service Members, and all who have served our nation.

This year also marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, an event that forever shaped our understanding of service, sacrifice, and courage. As we commemorate the proud anniversaries of America’s military branches, the Field of Honor® reminds us of the generations who have answered the call and the freedoms their service has secured.

Each flag represents a person, a story, and a reason to remember. The community is invited to dedicate a flag in honor or memory of a Veteran, donate, or become an event sponsor. Proceeds benefit Mothers of Veteran Suicide.

The Field of Honor® is free and open to the public. Visitors are encouraged to walk among the flags, reflect on the names, and take a moment to honor the individuals behind the uniform—and the opportunities their service has made possible.
