Stoneham’s Annual Field of Honor®

Located just nine miles north of downtown Boston, the Town of Stoneham invites the greater Boston community to experience its sixth annual Field of Honor®, November 6–15, 2026, in observance of Veterans Day.

As America celebrates its 250th Anniversary, this year’s Field of Honor® offers a special opportunity to reflect on the generations of Americans who have stepped forward to serve and protect the freedoms of our nation. Our tradition of a volunteer military is a powerful expression of service, honor, and sacrifice—citizens choosing to answer the call and serve something greater than themselves.

During the days surrounding Veterans Day, a beautiful display of United States flags will stand in ordered rows and columns, honoring our military, veterans, first responders, and those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of freedom. Each flag may be dedicated to an individual whose service, sacrifice, and story deserve to be remembered.

There is a story behind every flag.

Proceeds from the Field of Honor® will support the Stoneham Veterans Assistance Fund, which provides temporary and emergency financial assistance to Stoneham veterans experiencing hardship. Assistance is awarded on a case-by-case basis to help veterans through times of significant financial need.

The public is invited to visit this free display, walk among the flags, read the stories of those being honored, and take a moment to reflect on the meaning of service and sacrifice.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for those wishing to dedicate a flag to a hero, loved one, veteran, service member, first responder, or hometown hero.

The Field of Honor® is made possible through donations, sponsorships, and the dedication of community volunteers. As America marks 250 years, Stoneham’s Field of Honor® provides a place to remember those who have served, honor those who sacrificed, and reflect on the freedoms we share.
