Merced’s Field of Honor® — Remember. Honor. Celebrate America.
For the 14th consecutive year, Merced Sunrise Rotary Club invites the community to experience its Veterans Day Field of Honor®—a moving display of hundreds of American flags honoring Veterans, First Responders and Hometown Heroes, with special recognition this year for those who served during the Vietnam era.
2026 is a year unlike any other. As America celebrates its 250th anniversary and we mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, the Field of Honor® offers a place to reflect on the generations who have served, sacrificed and helped preserve the freedoms we share.
At the center of the field, a digitally remastered 4′ x 6′ reproduction of the Declaration of Independence connects the ideals that gave birth to our nation with the people who have carried them forward. It is a reminder that the freedoms we enjoy were never guaranteed—and are never to be taken for granted.
Each flag represents a person and a story. Visitors are invited to walk among the flags, read the names, reflect, remember and share the experience with family and friends.
Sponsor a flag in honor or memory of someone special, become an event sponsor, or make a donation supporting Veterans.
The Field of Honor® is free and open to everyone.
Come walk the field. Remember those who served. Reflect on what they made possible. Celebrate 250 years of America.
