Field of Honor® – A Patriotic Tribute for America’s 250th Anniversary
This summer, our community will come together for a powerful and patriotic tribute as United States flags stand tall on 7½-foot white flagstaffs across the beautiful grounds of The Oakland Library, located at 445 Oakland Parkway.
This breathtaking display honors our military service members, veterans, and fallen heroes — those whose courage, dedication, and sacrifice have shaped our nation’s history and secured its future.
In celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary, this year’s event will feature a historic display of every American flag flown throughout our 250-year history, along with a life-sized, digitally restored Declaration of Independence banner, allowing every precious word of our nation’s founding document to be clearly read and appreciated.
Each flag in the Field of Honor® represents a life of service and deepens the meaning of our remembrance. The display provides a powerful and fitting moment to reflect on the legacy of those who have defended our freedoms and upheld our nation’s enduring ideals.
More than a display, the Field of Honor® is a shared community experience that unites the residents of Lee County in gratitude and reflection. The sweeping panorama of red, white, and blue is difficult to describe — but once witnessed, it leaves a lasting and unforgettable impression.
This inspiring event is a gift to the community, made possible by the Exchange Club of Lee County and through generous donations, sponsorships, and dedication of committed volunteers.
The Field of Honor® is free and open to the public from June 27 through July 5.
Join us as we remember, honor, and celebrate those who have served our nation. Be part of this unforgettable tribute during America’s historic 250th Anniversary.
We look forward to seeing you there!
