Event Details
It would be hard to imagine a more stunning and appropriate location for Glendale’s Field of Honor® display of flag than the entrance drive to Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The 1,000 United States flags flying provide an inspiring welcome for visitors arriving to this world-famous park that is far more than an usual cemetery. Forest Lawn provides serene burial sites with chapels, statuary and artworks; however, it is also dedicated to preserving U.S. history, and the stunning display of the Stars and Stripes adds to patriotic displays throughout the park.
Hosted by the Glendale Sunrise Rotary Club, the 3rd annual flag display is in truth a “Field of Honor and Gratitude,” which pays tribute to heroes that have earned our recognition and thanks:
- Fallen Service Men and Women
- First Reponders to Emergency Scenes
- Heroes in Our Lives
These men and women who have sacrificed their lives in defense of our nation, first responders and all heroes may be honor with the display of a dedicated flag. Flags are sponsored for $50, and the sponsors retain the flags at the close of the event to be displayed in surrounding communities as mementos of the Field of Honor® event.
The Glendale Field of Honor and Gratitude display is a gift to the community made possible through donations, sponsorships and the efforts of many dedicated volunteers. You can show your support and gratitude by sponsoring a flag or making a donation.
There is no charge to visit the Field of Honor® display, and all are invited to walk with us through the ordered rows of flags. This is an event not to be missed.
