Site of the former St. Mary’s Hospital, 1400 Vermont St, Quincy, Illinois 62301

Quincy’s 7th Annual Field of Honor® event honors those who have honored the flag with the display of the flag. There is no more appropriated place to display 1,000 U.S. flags in honor of our veterans than the campus of the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, and this magnificent formation of the Stars & Stripes could not be posted at a more beautiful site. Add to this the fact that residents of the Veterans home are close at hand to visit the display and visit with area residents who attend the event.

The posted flags not only create this memorable event, but their display continues through the year as the flags spread through the Quincy area as they are flown on holidays at homes and business that subscribe to the Exchange Clubs flag display program.

Everyone’s invited to visit the Field of Honor® display and to support the Quincy Exchange Club in presenting an event that will draw area residents together honoring those who have served us to protect our freedom.

The Field of Honor® flag display event and the Flags of Honor neighborhood flag display program promote the display of the Stars and Stripes throughout the Quincy community.

The Exchange Club now plans to focus fundraising efforts on its American Flag program. For $30 a year, it will put a flag in a participant’s front yard four times a year — Memorial Day, Flag Day, the Fourth of July and Veterans Day. The club is also sponsoring a Field of Honor at Madison Park, where 1,000 American flags will be displayed on Veterans Day.
