Joyner’s Crossing at NC 97 and Halifax Road, 10601 East Highway 97, Rocky Mount, NC 27886
Memorial Day began to honor veterans and the Sharpsburg Exchange Club’s Field of Honor® focuses on honoring those who gave their lives in defense of our nation and veterans who have served our nation at home and abroad. Police, Firefighters and medical first responders, thought their service and sacrifice, have similarly earned our gratitude.
In tribute for those who by their actions have become heroes in our lives, the Sharpsburg Exchange Club brings their inaugural Field of Honor® display to the Twin Counties.
Members of the Rocky Mount Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2057, have firsthand experience of wartime service’s meaning. They join with the Sharpsburg Exchange in honoring those who returned from war, and those who did not.
It is appropriate to honor our heroes with display of the flag that they honored though their service and sacrifice. Rocky Mount’s Field of Honor® display of U.S. Flags brings volunteers, residents and visitors together as 250 flags are posted. This inspiring and memorable panorama of red, white and blue is hard to describe, but once experienced it is not to be forgotten.
The Rocky Mount Field of Honor® display is a gift to the metropolitan area made possible through donations, sponsorships and the efforts of many dedicated volunteers. You can show your support and gratitude by sponsoring a flag, making a donation or doing both. Programs of the Sharpsburg Exchange Club and the Rocky Mount VFW will benefit from funds raised through the Field of Honor® display.
Please visit the Field of Honor® display and invite your family and friends to walk with you among the ordered rows of U.S. flags. There is no better way to observe Memorial Day.
