Virtual Healing Field®

Appropriately described not only as a local tradition, but as “Murfreesboro’s iconic Memorial Day salute,” the Boro’s 12th Annual Healing Field® event differs from past years recognizing COVID-19 pandemic challenges unlike anything experienced in the annual displays eleven year history.  While pandemic restriction limit activities Murfreesboro’s residents have enjoyed in past years, the Healing Field® continues transformed to better fit current social distancing needs.

The 12th Annual Murfreesboro Healing Field® event begins with a virtual display shown on the webpage and individuals may sponsor a flag and have it a virtual flag on the online displayed.  For the usual $35 sponsorship donation, the flag will be posted on Murfreesboro Virtual Healing Field® map in honor of an individual hero, who have by their actions honored the flag.

You will be able to pick up your actual flags will be available for pick up on Saturday May 16th, 2020 from  9:00 am – 5:00 pm at 265 West Thompson Lane, Murfreesboro, TN.    If you have questions, please call (615) 641-0121.

A retired U.S. Marine commented, “During World War I, World War II and other conflicts, the flags came out.  Now it is time for the flags to come out again.”  The U.S. flag symbolizes our unity as we fight to overcome COVID-19’s devastating effects.  The display of the Stars and Stripes is needed now, more than ever.

The Murfreesboro Healing Field® display is a gift to the community made possible through donations, sponsorships and the efforts of dedicated volunteers. You can show your support and gratitude by sponsoring a flag, making a donation or doing both. Please support the Healing Field® display to remember and reflect upon those who died defending our nation and way of life.
