Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage, 4580 Rachel’s Lane, Hermitage, TN 37076
Situated amid the woods and grassy fields of Andrew Jackson’s loved home, the Hermitage is more than worth a visit at any time of the year. However, during the days surrounding Veteran’s Day a thousand U.S. flags will be posted on Victory Field located between the stately antebellum mansion and the historic Lebanon Road. Continuing what has become a local tradition, the Donalson-Hermitage
Here flags will fly in tribute to veterans whose service and sacrifices give our national flag meaning, and the Hermitage provides a beautiful and appropriate site as the Exchange Club of Donelson-Hermitage Exchange Club partners with the Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage – Presidential Site to hosts their 4th Annual Field of Honor®.
Flags may be sponsored for $30, and the sponsors retain the flags at the close of the event to be displayed in surrounding communities as mementos of the Hermitage Field of Honor display. The funds raised through the Field of Honor® flag display will benefit The Family Center working to “empower parents to raise happy, healthy children.”
The vista of red, white and blue is hard to describe, but once experienced it is not to be forgotten. There will be no charge to visit the Field of Honor® display, and all are invited to walk with us through the ordered rows of flags. This is an event not to be missed.
