November 9 – 11, 2019 at the corner of Park Street and Dixie Drive, SAMS Baseball Field, South Asheboro Middle School – 523 West Walker Ave Asheboro, NC 27203
Serving as U.S. Highway 64, West Dixie Avenue is a busy thorofare with scenery not unlike other roadways. However, those traveling along the West Dixie Drive this Veterans Day weekend will be rewarded with an exceptional view of red, white & blue. Truckers who pass through Asheboro often sound their horns in salute to the scene. Folks who pull off at Park Street and find a spot in the adjacent parking lot will be able to fully experience Asheboro’s 4th Annual Field of Honor® display of 700 U.S. flags flying atop 7½ foot white flagstaffs.
The Asheboro/Randolph Chamber of Commerce joins together with the Asheboro Rotary Club each year at Veterans Day to host the Field of Honor® display as a way to bring together the residents of the Randolph County and surrounding communities. Hard to adequately describe, this event must be experienced to be fully appreciated.
Each flag flown in the Asheboro Field of Honor® display represents an individual and tells a story of service and sacrifice as sponsored flags honor individuals. The event is the perfect opportunity for all of us to remember and honor those who serve to protect our nation and our community. The funds raised will benefit the charitable programs of the Rotary Club of Asheboro & Asheboro/Randolph Chamber of Commerce.
The Asheboro Field of Honor® display is a gift to the community made possible through donations, sponsorships and the efforts of many dedicated volunteers. Please show your support and gratitude by sponsoring a flag or making a donation.
The display is open to all without charge, and we invite all to visit the Asheboro Field of Honor® display and walk among the posted flags. This is an experience that is not to be missed.
