Recognizing heroes is a Greenville tradition that goes back to the city’s naming in 1786. General Nathaniel Greene emerged from the American Revolution as the hero of the Carolinas, Georgia and Virginia, and when he died in 1786, Greenville was named in his honor.
The Sonora Sunrise Rotary Club is excited to announce our 4th Annual Field of Honor® scheduled for November 8–11, 2025, at the Standard Park and Sports Complex in Sonora, California.
For the 13th straight year, the Merced Sunrise Rotary Club hosts their Veteran's Day Field of Honor® flag display. As in each previous year, the flags will honor military and veterans with focus on those who served in Vietnam.
Imagine 2,000 United States flags, each measuring 3 by 5 feet and flying atop 7½ foot tall white flagstaffs. Not just imagination, this stunning vista becomes reality during the second week of November as the Georgetown Rotary brings its 9th Annual Field of Honor® event to San Gabriel Park.
United States flags will fly in a solemn formation from November, 8-15th with a ceremony on Veterans Day, Tuesday, November, 11 at noon.
