Event Details
During the days surrounding Memorial Day, the Village of Questa will host Taos County’s 14th Annual Veterans Healing Field of Honor display of the Stars and Stripes. Pastureland located off State Road 522 in Questa will display 1,000 U.S. Flags flying against the backdrop of area mountains. This solemn formation honors veterans, military service members and especially those who died defending our nation and our way of life.
There is a story of service and sacrifice surrounding each posted flag to remind the mature and to teach the youth that our freedoms have been purchase by the toil and blood of others with many paying the cost with their very lives. Family, friends and each of us share in the loss of men and women whose lives have been cut short on battlefields of an increasingly dangerous world.
The panorama of red, white and blue is hard to adequately describe, but once experienced it is not to be forgotten. There will be no charge to visit the Field of Honor® display, and all are invited to walk with us through the ordered rows of flags. This is an event not to be missed.
The Questa display is a gift to the community made possible through donations, sponsorships and the efforts of many dedicated volunteers. You can show your support and gratitude by sponsoring a flag or making a donation.
Flags used in the display may be purchased for $25 by contacting Questa City event organizers. These flags will be available for pick-up at the conclusion of the display.
