From September 9 through September 13, 2026, communities across the region will unite for a powerful tribute of patriotism and remembrance, commemorating both the 250th anniversary of the United States and the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.
Sponsored by The American Legion Post 57, the 2026 Healing Fields® will be presented at four locations, each offering a moving display of American flags honoring the lives lost, the heroes who rose in courage, and the enduring strength of our nation.
Each flag stands as a tribute to an individual hero, telling a story of service, sacrifice, and courage. Together, these displays create a powerful and unifying experience, inviting all who visit to reflect on the legacy of 9/11 and the enduring ideals of our nation.
As we mark 25 years since September 11, 2001, we remember the lives lost and honor the bravery of first responders and everyday citizens who showed extraordinary courage. In that moment of tragedy, America stood united—and that spirit continues to define us.
At the same time, we celebrate 250 years of American independence, recognizing the generations who have defended our freedoms and upheld the values symbolized by our flag.
Community members are invited to walk among the flags, reflect, and participate in this meaningful tribute. The events are free and open to the public.
Join us as we remember, honor, and stand united—never forgetting September 11, and celebrating the enduring strength of America.
