Exchange Clubs understand the impact created through the display of our National Flag, and this year brings greater meaning to the Mooresville Field of Honor® display as the Mooresville/Lake Norman Exchange Clubs post hundreds of United States flags on the grassy field adjacent to Lowe’s YMCA on Joe Knox Avenue.   The “Field of Flags” honors those who trough their lives have honored the flags that will fly in their tribute.

America is never short of heroes, but countless men and women have placed their own lives in jeopardy to serve during the Covid-19 pandemic.  Doctors, nurses and medical support staffs have worked extraordinary long hours under grave conditions caring for the sick and dying.  Workers have supported a wide range of community needs made more critical by extraordinary efforts to slow and stop the spread of a life-threatening virus.  Americans have followed social distancing and quarantine measures to lower infection rates.  Combined efforts demonstrate our unity as a people that are symbolized by the U.S. flag.

The solemn formation of the Stars & Stripes honors individuals, our community, our state and our nation.

Flags may be sponsored to honor individuals and the sponsors will retain the flags at the close of the event to be displayed in Mooresville and surrounding communities as continuing reminders of heroism. This is a gift to area communities made possible through the support of businesses and area residents. Please support this inspiring event by sponsoring flags or making donations.

The funds raised through the Field of Honor® flag display will benefit programs of the Mooresville—Lake Norman Exchange Club as they support community needs.

Especially meaningful this year, the vista of red, white and blue is hard to adequately describe; however, once experienced it is not to be forgotten. There will be no charge to visit the Field of Honor® display, and all are invited to walk with us through the ordered rows of flags. Please be part of this meaningful event.
