July 3-7, 2019
Memorial Park at Fort Harrison, 9120 Otis Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46216

The Exchange Clubs of Hancock County and Lawrence proudly bring their 2nd Annual Field of Honor® Flag Display to Lawrence and the greater Indianapolis metro area.  Memorial Park is an especially appropriate site for a posting of 800 United States flags since the area was formerly on the grounds of Fort Benjamin Harrison, an important U.S. Army installation during the last century.  Still remembered fondly by old timers as “Fort Ben,” the park will present a stunning place for a massive formation of the Stars and Stripes honoring our military, our veterans and our first responders.  The motto: Honoring American Heroes fits the display and the location perfectly.

Field of Honor® flags fly to honor the men and women who h

ave and are defending our nation around the world. The number of surviving World War II veterans grows smaller each day, and the decades have multiplied since our military served on the battlefields of Korea and Vietnam. In the years since the terrorist attacks of 2001 our military members have fought in the Middle East. With the fall of the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, highlighted the sacrifices of first responders reminding us that they too place themselves in harm’s way to also protect us. All these heroes honored the flag and it is fitting that the display of the flag should honor them. It is time to show our appreciation.

Lawrence Field of Honor® flags may be sponsored in tribute to individual veterans who returned or those who did not return. Also, currently serving men & women and first responders may also be honored. Flags are sponsored for $30, and they are received by the sponsors at the end of the event.
The Lawrence Field of Honor® is a gift to the Indianapolis community made possible through donations, sponsorships and the efforts of many dedicated volunteers. You can show your support and gratitude by sponsoring a flag or becoming an event patron.
