Goldsboro, NC ~ Field of Honor® 2026

August 29September 14

3000 Wayne Memorial Drive , NC

As our nation commemorates America’s 250th Anniversary and marks the 25th Anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, the Goldsboro Rotary Club proudly invites the community August 29-September 14th to gather in a powerful tribute to the courage, sacrifice, and enduring spirit that define our nation.

Hundreds of United States flags will stand proudly across the lawns of Wayne Community College during the Goldsboro Field of Honor®—a breathtaking display of patriotism dedicated to the men and women who have answered the call to serve. Together, these flags create a living memorial honoring our military, veterans, first responders, law enforcement officers, healthcare professionals, and all who have placed service above self for the benefit of others.

Each flag represents a story of dedication, sacrifice, and love of country. Community members are invited to sponsor a flag in honor or memory of a family member, friend, colleague, or hero whose life reflects the values of duty, courage, and commitment. Special dedication tags will identify those honored, and each sponsored flag, along with its personalized tag, will be presented to the sponsor following the event as a lasting keepsake of remembrance.

This year’s display carries special significance as Americans reflect on two defining milestones in our nation’s history. While celebrating 250 years of freedom, opportunity, and unity, we also pause to remember the lives lost on September 11 and recognize the generations of service members and first responders who have faithfully defended our nation and cared for our communities during the twenty-five years since that tragic day. Their legacy continues to inspire us to stand together, serve one another, and preserve the freedoms represented by our flag.

The Goldsboro Field of Honor® is a gift to the community, made possible through the generosity of sponsors, donors, and dedicated volunteers. Proceeds from the event support the charitable mission of the Rotary Foundation, strengthening our community through service and outreach.

There are few experiences as moving as walking among hundreds of American flags gently waving in unison—a sea of red, white, and blue that reminds us of the price of freedom and the strength found in a grateful nation. We invite everyone to visit the Goldsboro Field of Honor®, reflect upon those who have served, honor those who continue to serve, and join us in celebrating the American spirit that unites us all.

Admission is free. Come honor. Come remember. Come celebrate America.

Thank You
