Members of the U.S. military stand daily formations at home and overseas in ceremonies honoring their units, their organizations and the nation. The U.S. Army Airborne and Special Operations Museum annually posts United States flags in a formation on its Parade Grounds to honor the men and women of our Armed Forces who honor the Stars & Stripes through their service. It is fitting that our flag should honor those who have honored the flag.
Fayetteville’s Cool Spring Downtown District has joined with the Airborne and Special Forces Museum Foundation each year since 2008 to make possible this inspiring display with 700 U.S. flags flying on the museum’s Parade Grounds.
Each flag tells its own story by displaying a tag identifying both the person who sponsored the flag and the flag honoree. This living display of heroism flies as a patriotic tribute to the strength and unity of Americans, and honors all who are currently serving, those that have served, and the men and women who have made the supreme sacrifice for our nation’s security and freedom.
Flags will proudly display the name of its sponsor and honoree on the Parade Field of the U.S. Army Airborne & Special Operations Museum.
Flags may be purchased to honor the memory of a veteran or current service member from any branch of service.
Proceeds from the 2024 Field of Honor will benefit the Cool Spring Downtown District & Airborne & Special Operations Museum.
