Fayetteville, NC ~ Field of Honor® 2026

  • This event has passed.

September 11, 2025November 11, 2025

100 Bragg Blvd. ,

Members of the United States military stand in daily formations across the nation and around the world, honoring their units, their service, and the country they proudly defend. In that same spirit of honor and tradition, the U.S. Army Airborne & Special Operations Museum annually presents a powerful display of United States flags across its historic Parade Grounds—each one raised in tribute to the brave men and women who serve under the Stars & Stripes. It is fitting that our flag should honor those who have honored the flag.

In 2026, this tribute carries even deeper meaning as our nation commemorates America’s 250th Anniversary, celebrating two and a half centuries of courage, sacrifice, and freedom. This year also marks the 25th Anniversary of September 11, 2001, a solemn reminder of the resilience, unity, and unwavering patriotism that define the American spirit.

Since 2008, Fayetteville’s Cool Spring Downtown District has partnered with the Airborne & Special Operations Museum Foundation to create this inspiring patriotic display. Together, they will once again present over 500 American flags standing in formation across the museum’s Parade Grounds—an awe-inspiring field of red, white, and blue.

Each flag tells a personal story. A tag attached to every flag identifies both the sponsor and the individual being honored. This living display of heroism stands as a powerful tribute to the strength and unity of the American people. It honors those currently serving, those who have served, first responders who answered the call on September 11, and the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation’s security and freedom.

Flags will proudly display the names of sponsors and honorees on the historic Parade Field of the U.S. Army Airborne & Special Operations Museum.

Flags may be purchased to honor the memory of a veteran, active-duty service member, or hero from any branch of service.

Proceeds from the 2026 Field of Honor™ will benefit the Cool Spring Downtown District and the Airborne & Special Operations Museum Foundation, supporting programs that preserve military history, honor our heroes, and strengthen the patriotic spirit of our community.
