Creating an awe-inspiring panorama, United States flags will fly in a solemn formation at Olde Dominion Agriculture Complex during July 3rd through July 24th, 2021.  This stirring display of 350 flags will bring the community together in a patriotic tribute to honor our heroes.  Each U.S. flag represents an individual and tells a story.  Flags may be sponsored to honor individuals currently serving in our Military, Veterans, First Responders, Educators, Healthcare worker, Community Volunteers and Hometown Heroes.  This unique event is the perfect opportunity for all of us to remember and honor our many heroes.

Patriotic pride shines in Chatham
Danville Register – Jul 3, 2021
The Rotary Club of Chatham started planning for a July 4th Hometown Celebration in March as a way to celebrate the end of the COVID-19 pandemic. The multi-day event included a block party Friday evening by the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office. The patriotic festivities continued Saturday when the Rotary Club hosted an opening ceremony for a Field of Honor along U.S. 29. The flag display will run through July 24 dedicated to “hometown heroes of all kinds, from educators to hospital workers, as well as law enforcement and military veterans,” a the club said. A parade down Main Street in Chatham welcomed floats, vehicles and animals Saturday morning. The Pittsylvania Historical Society also invited visitors to explore artifacts from the county’s history.
