Beginning June 13, 2026, Ivy Tech Community College will be the setting for a powerful and meaningful display as hundreds of United States flags stand together in quiet formation. This tribute brings the community together to reflect, remember, and honor those who have served, sacrificed, and strengthened our nation. Each flag represents a life, a legacy, and a story worth remembering. Community members are invited to sponsor flags in honor of individuals who have made a difference.
As we gather, we also mark two significant milestones in our nation’s history—the celebration of America’s 250th anniversary and the remembrance of the 25th anniversary of September 11. These moments invite us to reflect on our shared journey, recognize the resilience of our people, and honor those whose courage and sacrifice continue to shape our country.
This year’s theme, “Honoring Our Heroes,” guides the Bloomington, IN Field of Honor® display, hosted by the Exchange Club of Northside Bloomington. It is a tribute not only to those who have served in uniform, but to all who have contributed to the strength and spirit of our communities.
Made possible through the generosity of donors, sponsors, and dedicated volunteers, this display is a gift to the entire community. Visitors are encouraged to participate by sponsoring a flag or making a donation as a way to express gratitude and support.
Walking among the rows of flags offers a moment of reflection and connection—an opportunity to pause, remember, and appreciate the values that unite us. Proceeds from the display will support the Southern Indiana Exchange Clubs Foundation Inc., which provides housing assistance for veterans and their families who are at risk of homelessness or currently experiencing it.
The display is open to the public at no cost, and all are welcome to attend.
