Cary, IL ~ Field of Honor® 2014

May 23-26 — Honoring All Veterans

The Veterans Network Committee of Northern Illinois is adding a new event to their community activities that benefit area veterans.  Hundreds of full size U.S. flags will fly on eight foot tall white poles during the days surrounding Memorial Day to honor our veterans.  The Field of Honor® flag display is part of a nationwide program that unites communities in an inspiring event while raising money for local charities.

Area residents may have had opportunity to visit one of these displays in neighboring Naperville, Aurora or Carpentersville, and knowing what to expect they will not be disappointed.  First time visitors will discover a beautiful panorama of red, white and blue that will present an unforgettable experience.

We invite all to support this first Field of Honor® posted in the northernmost counties of Illinois.  Flags may be sponsored to honor individual veterans.  At the close of the event, flags are retained by the sponsors at a cost of $40 for flags picked up, and $45 if the sponsor wishes the flag to be shipped.  Proceeds will benefit the programs of the Veterans Network Committee of Northern Illinois. There is no admission cost to visit the Field of Honor® display, and all are invited to walk among the flag formation which remind us that freedom has its cost.  Each flag represents a person and has its story.

Online flag sales have discontinued for the year. Thank you for your support!
