More than 800 U.S. flags will fly at 265 West Thompson Lane. Those familiar with Murfreesboro’s Healing Field® flag displays will recognize this as a treasured local tradition, and first-time visitors will experience an unforgettable event. A grassy field filled with U.S. flags flying in the breeze presents an unforgettable panorama of red, white and blue, which imparts a sense of healing and optimism.

The Murfreesboro Healing Field® display is a gift to the community made possible through donations, sponsorships and the efforts of dedicated volunteers. You can show your support and gratitude by sponsoring a flag or making a donation. Walking amid the flags, we remember and reflect upon those who died defending our nation and way of life.

“The Golden Voice”

Lou Galterio (Bass-Baritone) entertains in the styles of the great crooners like Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett and Bobby Darin. He performs Italian tributes to artists from Italy like Bocelli, Pavarotti and Caruso. Lou has headlined at Italian Festivals all over the country and has performed for many Italian events and organizations such as: NIAF, Il Circolo, UNICO, Italy-American Chamber of Commerce, Columbus Day and Italian National Day. He has also sung the Italian National Anthem for the Consul General of Italy.

Lou Galterio is also known for his amazing and moving rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. His powerful voice has brought him many opportunities to sing for the NFL, the NBA, the NHL and Major League Baseball. Most notably, Lou has sung on Monday Night Football at the Superdome, for the NBA Playoffs and for the NFC Champions Atlanta Falcons.

Lou has had the honor of being invited to perform the National Anthem for the President of the United States, the First Lady, the Speaker of the House, on Opening Day for the Joint Sessions of Congress and for the Governors from over a dozen different states.

Healing Fields in Murfreesboro Memorial Day Weekend

The 2017 9th Annual Healing Field- Flags of Remembrance is set for Memorial Day Weekend, May 27-29th. Opening ceremony and posting of the flags is at 8AM on Saturday (5/27/17), and the closing ceremony is at 5PM Monday with keynote speaker retired Lt. General Keith Huber.
