Event Details

Hundreds of United States flags will again stand posted on the grassy field in front of St. Ignatius Catholic Church as the Knights of Columbus present Ijamsville’s Second Annual Field of Honor® event in tribute to our American heroes past and present. Individual flags will honor our active duty military as well as those who have sacrificed their lives to defend our freedoms. Flags will also honor the first responders who serve our communities. Flags may be sponsored for $40, and the sponsors will retain the flags at the close of the event to be displayed in Ijamsville and surrounding communities as continuing mementos of service.

The panorama of red, white and blue is hard to adequately describe, but once experienced it is not to be forgotten. There will be no charge to visit the Ijamsville Field of Honor® display, and all are invited to walk with us through the ordered rows of flags. This is an event not to be missed.

Please join us on Sunday, May 28th for a dusk concert from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm as the Browningsville Cornet Band plays 2 hours of patriotic music for the public. Bring your own chair or walk through the Field of Honor to pay tribute to our servicemen, servicewomen, and first responders.

Then join us on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29th, for the Field of Honor ceremony, beginning at 10:30 am on the grassy field outside of St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church.
