Cody, WY ~ 5th Annual Field of Honor® 2016

Cody City Park and Court House Lawns
908 Sheridan Avenue, Cody, WY 82414
June 14 – 20, 2016

In what has become a Cody tradition, the 5th Annual Field of Honor® flag display will be posted at the City Park and Court House lawns to celebrate the two hundred thirty-ninth anniversary of the U.S. flag’s adoption by the Continental Congress.  Wyoming entered the American Union in 1891 adding its 44th star to Old Glory, and the Cowboy state has a rich tradition of flags. Although all of their flags may not have actually been raised against Wyoming skies, five nations have claimed parts of the state as their territory.  Spain, Mexico, Great Britain and the United States may be obvious, but one tiny square of southern Wyoming was even claimed by the Republic of Texas.  Today, the Cody Field of Honor® reflects the patriotism of area residents, while raising fund to complete the Cody Heritage Museum in the historic DeMaris Building.

The inspiring formation of the Stars and Stripes posted for Cody’s Field of Honor unites area residents and provides a beautiful panorama to attract tourists visiting Cody. Everyone is invited to share in this inspiring event.
