November 5 – 13, 2021
Central Middle School Field, 101 Central Street (at corner of Williams St), Stoneham, MA 02180

Located 9 miles north of downtown Boston, the town of Stoneham brings their second Field of Honor® to the areas greater metro area.

During the days surrounding Veterans Day, a stunning display of United States flags will stand posted in ordered rows and columns.  This beautiful display of the Stars and Stripes honors our military and veterans with special remembrance of those who gave their lives in defense of freedom.  Each flag may be dedicated to an individual who honored Old Glory through dedicated service and sacrifice in the following areas:

  • Active-Duty Military
  • Fallen Servicemen & Women
  • First Responders
  • Veterans
  • COVID 1ST Responders

There is a story behind each posted flag.  These men and women have become our heroes, and they deserve to be honored and always remembered.

Flags dedicated for $50 will be posted in the formation to create a panorama of red, white & blue that forms a lasting memory for visitors to the Field of Honor® flag formation.  To order or volunteer, please visit us at https://www.stonehamfieldofhonor.com/.  Proceeds will go to support the Stoneham Veterans Assistance Fund, Veterans Monument Fund, and Skate for the 22 organization.

The Town of Stoneham’s Veterans Assistance Fund is designed to help veterans who are residents of Stoneham who demonstrate financial hardship. The Veterans Assistance Fund is funded by the community and is awarded on a case by case basis. This fund provides a temporary/emergency solution to help veterans who are in a dire financial need to assist them through a financial crisis.

Each day 22 U.S. Military Veterans take their own lives…  The Skate for the 22 Foundation was formed to reduce that tragically high number. They provide hockey, learn to skate, and skills development sessions, at no cost to our players, to get veterans back into a supportive, team environment.  Giving Veterans a place to be at home.

From the Colonial wars of the 1600s to the present-day conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, Stoneham residents have left home to fight on their country’s battlefields. The Veterans Monument Fund was established to maintain the perpetual care and preservation of Stoneham’s Veterans’ memorials and to fund future projects.
