WEST MICHIGAN – Healing Field – 2011
September 9-13, 2011 – Cannonsburg Ski Lodge – Click here to view event location.

The Rockford Area Community Endowment will be the host to a 2011 West Michigan Healing Field® 9/11 flag memorial where you will behold a beautiful display of 3,200 U.S. flags.
These 3′X5′ flags will stand 8′ tall in perfect rows. This living display of heroism will fly as a temporary patriotic tribute to the strength and unity of Americans, and will commemorate the 10 year anniversary of all those who died September 11, 2001.
Please join us and walk this awe inspiring display of flags. This is the perfect opportunity for all of us to unite as a community to remember and honor those who died in this tragic event.
Important: The West Michigan Healing Field at Cannonsburg is now moving into West Michigan, and beyond, homes, businesses and schools where the conversation about September 11, 2001 will continue through the life of individual victims. There are flags still available for ‘shipping only’. We apologize but at this time there is no way to accommodate specific requests…all first responders, fire, port authority and airline passengers have sponsors. We are still working to find sponsors for World Trade Center victims.
The West Michigan Healing Field committee wishes to thank our sponsors, 600+ volunteers and the 75,000+ citizens of West Michigan and beyond, for the tremendous embrace of the Healing Field concept. May the stories, reflections and honoring of the September 11 victims continue in your homes, businesses and schools…its the most important part of a ‘healing field’.

Ten years later. It’s still vivid in my mind where I was and what I felt at that moment.
My girlfriend and I went to the “Healing Fields” today and it was a bit emotional and sobering. Slowly wading through the field of flags, reading about real people and their lives that were given in such a patriotic manner due to such hatred, sinister, cowardice motives and acts, made me glad I attended to remind me of the sacrifices made that day. As a retired veteran, I salute every fallen soldier, fallen civilian, and every family member that was affected by this cowardice act. I salute those still serving, you indeed have my full respect.
Patriot’s Day lives in our hearts and minds.

Susan, Thank you to ALL of the wonderful sponsors and volunteers that made this even such a success! My husband and I were there and I could not have been more honored to see this in our community. To say it was emotional is an understatement, yet we are CELEBRATING the lives of those lost that terrible day 10 yrs. ago. It was truly perfect on every level. Blessings.

I thank you for the opportunity to teach my grandsons about that tragic day – at that time they were babies. My daughter & I of course new the emotion and heartache as we touched the flags and read the cards. It was early Sunday morning and there was a fog on the hill and the mere power of the flags gave us the chills as we cried and prayed for the familes and friends of all who were lost. It was very emotional – thank you for all your time and efforts of this breath taking display of the “Healing Fields”. God Bless America!

I think this is a beautiful way to honor those we lost on 9/11. I don’t have the means to donate funds but would love to volunteer in some capacity if it’s not too late. If it’s too late, many, many thanks to those who have lovingly taken the time to put this amazing tribute together…brings tears to my eyes.
I will be there in honor of those lost on 9/11 and am so grateful to have an organized place to go in order to remember those on the anniversary. I never forget those lost no matter the date but it will be nice to see those beautiful American flags waving in the breeze on the great hills of Cannonsburg.
With Love, Light and Hope.
