The North Buncombe Band Boosters will again host an inspiring formation of the Stars and Stripes in honor of Law Enforcement, First Responders, Fire & Rescue, EMS, and  U.S. Military Men & Women.  Hundreds of U.S. flags will greet visitors at Weaverville’s Field of Honor® Flag Display which will take place this coming spring from May 17th to the 30th Northridge Commons Shopping Center  (Next to Steak ‘n Shake) in Weaverville.

Although this breathtaking panorama of red, white and blue will be visible from Interstate 26, walking amid the ordered rows of flags will offer visitors a stirring vista that will create a lasting memory.

In addition to presenting a memorable experience for the Buncombe County community, the event will raise funds to support programs of North Buncombe High’s Blackhawk Band.  For example, 2014’s Field of Honor® raised funds to offset travel costs for the Band’s tip to Hawaii for the 2014 Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade.

We invite all to visit the Field of Honor® flag display and to support our Blackhawk Band.  Flags may be sponsored to honor individual veterans or first responders, and after the Field of Honor’s close they can be kept for home display or they can be donated to North Buncombe Band Boosters. Flags sponsored for $40 will be available for pickup beginning  on May 31, and flags purchased for $50 will be shipped to sponsors.   Flags that are not picked up by June 6th or shipped to the individual sponsor will be donated to North Buncombe Band Boosters.  We appreciate your support!

Online flag sponsorships have been discontinued for this year.
