Tempe, AZ ~ 10th Annual Healing Field 2013

September 10-14, 2013

A decade long tradition continues this September as The Exchange Club of Tempe teams up with the city of Tempe to host their 10th Annual Healing Field flag display which honors the victims of the September 11th Terrorist Attacks.  Residents of Tempe, the surrounding cities and communities gather each year at Tempe Beach Park, located at Mill Avenue and Rio Salado Parkway, to honor and remember while walking amid 3,000 U.S. flags.   Each flag represents a life lost, and the victim is identified by a card attached to each flagstaff giving the name and telling something about each person’s life.  The massive display of flags reminds us of the magnitude of loss while the attached names do not allow us to forget that the individual losses are personal and real.
The display runs from September 10th through the 14th and is free to visitors.  Please join with us again this year as we walk along rows of U.S. flags that remind us of an event we must never forget.
