The Spring Valley Exchange Club and its Community Partners will host a Healing Field Memorial Event from August 24-28, 2005.
Imagine a sea of red white and blue. Hundreds
of American flags will stand eight foot tall in perfect rows and
columns across from South Park at the 1400 Block of South Section
Avenue. The visual effect will be one of infinity. The sacrifice
and memory becomes real and tangible when you see this breathtaking
display in honor of our veterans who have served our great
Country. These young men and women have given their lives in
the line of duty and met the call to arms with courage.
This breathtaking display will be free to the public on over the Sesquicentennial Celebration of Spring Valley, MN. Bring a camera and your family. Join us as we honor, remember, and heal.
The
event will be open from August 24 to August 28 at 1:00 pm when the
flags will be taken down and given to those who have sponsored the
individual flags to continue the contribute in their own homes.
Assembly of the field will be announced in the
upcoming weeks. Any volunteers from the community are invited to contact Jim Block at 507-346-724
