Healing Field Flag Memorial

The R.O.C.K. Group (Raising Our Children Kindly), a child abuse prevention agency, will be hosting a temporary memorial Healing Field Flag Display on weekend the weekend of June 22-24, 2007, flying over 1,513 full size American flags, one for each child reported abused and neglected in Chatham County in 2006. This beautiful and memorable display will be placed on 3 acres of grassy green fields fronting the National Guard Armory on Eisenhower Drive. Each flag will be tied with blue ribbon and named for a child in Chatham County.
A Soldier's Memorial Field will be incorporated in the display honoring the 338 soldiers from Ft. Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield that have lost their lives in the current conflict. Each soldier's flag will have a yellow ribbon with the soldier's rank and name.
A 9/11 Memorial will grace the front of the field flying the Flag of Honor and the Flag of Heroes, which lists the name of each person killed on 9/11 in the flags' stripes.

This field participated in Operation Thank You. Individuals sent a thank you kit including a healing field flag, a picture of the Savannah Healing Field, and a personal message from the sponsor.
