The Mishawaka Exchange Club and its Community Partners will host a Healing Field Memorial Event from
May 27, 28, 29, 30, 2005.
Imagine a sea of red, white and blue. Hundreds
of American flags will stand eight foot tall in perfect rows and
columns across a field of green just north of the Mishawaka Police
Station on Main Street. The visual effect will be one of infinity.
The sacrifice and memory becomes real and tangible when you see this
breathtaking display in honor of the victims of the 9/11 terrorist
attacks, soldiers who have served and sacrificed to keep America
free and the First Responders who are the first to help those
in need in the worst of situations. These young men and women
have given their lives in the line of duty and met the call to
arms with courage.
This breathtaking display will be free to the public over the Memorial Day weekend. Bring a camera and your family. Join us as we honor, remember, and heal.
The event will be open from May 27 thru May 30 at 4:00 pm
when the flags will be taken down and given to those who have sponsored
the individual flags to continue the tribute in their own homes and
businesses. Assembly of the field will be announced in the
upcoming weeks. Any volunteers from the community are invited to contact Dave Beaty at 574-255-7651

This
event is hosted by the Mishawaka Exchange Club and the flags
need your sponsorship. For $30.00 you can sponsor a flag and after the
event you can take your flag home to continue the tribute and
honor to our great country and the brave men and women who defend the
cause of freedom around the world.
Each
3'x5' Healing Field flag includes the eight foot pole with
gold ball and the rebar to post it in the lawn of your home or
