Fishers, IN   Veterans Healing Field TM

A Flag Tribute to Those U.S. Service Members Lives Lost
in Iraq and Afghanistan since September 11, 2001.

May 1 - 31, 2005                     Oaklawn Memorial Gardens & Funeral Center

Hosted By the
Indiana District Exchange Clubs and Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Centers

Imagine a sea of patriotic red, white and blue this Memorial Day. Over 1,500 American flags standing eight feet tall in perfect rows and columns across a field of green.  On May 1, 2005 from 9:00 am - 10:00 am there will be an opening ceremony for the Veterans Healing Field at the Oaklawn Memorial Garden and Funeral Center (97th & Allisonville).

The keynote speaker will be Congressman Dan Burton and we hope to have a flyover by the Indiana National Guard with a beutiful release of Doves, Patriotic singing and a beutiful version of  Taps played in honor of all those who have given the "Ultimate Sacrifice" for our freedom.

Thousands of Americans are asking what they can do to show support for the service members, especially those serving overseas in this time of war.  The Veterans Healing Field month long tribute will give Americans in our communities the opportunity to show their support for service members across the world by sponsoring a US flag and participating in the events surrounding the Veterans Healing Field.

Each flag in this Soldiers Field is placed in memory of a soldier, sailor, airman or marine lost in Iraq. Each flag is a visible reminder of the selfless, dedicated service to our Country by military service personel and the ultimate sacrifice made by these men and women. Each flag is a visible reminder that freedom is not free.

This emotionally moving display is free to the public from May 1-31, 2005 at the Oaklawn Memorial Gardens and Funeral Center in Fishers, IN. Bring the entire family to help us honor, remember and heal.

SPONSOR IT, OWN IT, TAKE IT HOME AND FLY IT PROUDLY

The patriotic event is hosted by the Indiana District Exchange Clubs and Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Centers. These flags need your sponsorship. You can sponsor a flag and on May 31st you can take your flag home to continue your tribute and honor to our great country. Each 3'x5' flag comes with and eight foot pole and the rebar to post it in your lawn.
