Although the original Healing Field was a September 11th memorial for those who lost their lives in the World Trade Center disaster, the Healing Field Project is not limited to this theme or date.
In 2003, the Military Coalition Field was introduced. Each flag on this field represents a member of the coalition forces that have lost their lives in the war on terrorism since 9/11/01. They can be displayed with only US flags representing US casualties or with full coalition representation, displaying the flag from each country for each coalition casualty.
These fields have stood alone or have accompanied a 9/11 field. These fields stand to honor those service men and women who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom. As visitors walk through these fields and read the name of a soldier, they begin to understand the freedom definately is not free. The Military Healing Fields grow daily so that another 9/11 never happens again.
