MACARONI AT MIDNIGHT
Macaroni at Midnight
is an autobiographical presentation about a Native American child
growing up in a world of poverty, alcoholism, homelessness, isolation,
juvenile delinquency, and child abuse. A
child of disability, who faces rejection from family, peers, teachers,
social workers, and community people, he becomes a victim of abuse by
father, school personnel and students, police, and community. Until a white lady intervenes, when the child is an adolescent, his life becomes one of desperation and juvenile delinquency. One
person’s intervention becomes the change force causing the young
teenager to overcome his disadvantages, become valedictorian of his
high school, and go on to become a professional social worker,
counselor, educator with juvenile delinquents and victims of abuse
years later.
