2011 Healing Field Memorial
The 10th Annual Utah Healing Field Flag Memorial will be held September 8-13, 2011 in Sandy City. This magnificent display commemorates the tragic loss that took place 10 years ago with a display of more than 3000 American flags—one for each victim.
It will also honor front-line responders in our community and those who serve in the armed forces, risking their lives for the safety and freedom of all American citizens.
Hope Rising Bronze Monument Dedication
The 2011 Utah Healing Field Memorial will feature the dedication of a new, unique monument titled, Hope Rising. The monument consists of a magnificent 9ft-tall bronze statue that depicts the three firemen who raised the American flag at Ground Zero, after the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City.
This monument will stand as a permanent reminder of a day we should never forget. It will serve as a fitting memorial for those we lost in the attacks of 9.11, and have since lost in the war on terror. Most importantly, it will stand as a symbol of the hope we felt on a day we lost so many… yet stood together.

The men and women who died that day were sacrificed so that we could be reminded of the country that God ordained for this people. They are all heroes. May we never forget them, and the men and women who have died defending that right through the years. God bless America, Land of the free.

I just returned from seeing the Healing Field. I would like to express my gratitude for all of the sponsors and volunteers who made this possible. I am deeply moved by this visual reminder of the multitude of lives lost that day.

What an amazing experience and an honor it was to participate in the removal of the flags from the field at this memorial today.
Two friends of mine in the Air National Guard and I arrived while the field was still set up and as we removed each flag & progressed down the field I was touched and reminded was a horrible loss, that is still felt today, swept this nation 10 years ago.
I’d like to share how much gratitude I have for the nation, the City of Sandy and my two friends in the service for helping me to ‘Never Forget’ and reminding me what the costs have been to enjoy the beautiful life I live as an American! God Bless America & those many lives sacrificed and affected in defending out freedom!
Thank you for this opportunity to develop my patriotism and learn what it really means to be a PROUD AMERICAN!

Wish there was a way of reading all of the Memorial tags that was on each Flag. So breath taking reading the ones that I had a chance to read. So glad to have this healing field for all of us. Such an amazing feeling while being there!

I was only 10 years old when all this went down. At first I didn’t know what it was really all about, but I shortly found out that it was going to change the American life. At ten I found my own personal feelings for this great country and they had been hurt. The days that followed I remembered the news paper gave out paper American flags to put in windows and anywhere you could place them. I had my mother get one for every window in our house and put them so anywhere you looked, you could see the colors of our country.
Over the years my love for this beautiful land and the Men and Women that serve it has grown a hundred times over. I get goose bumps when I see jets, a lump in my throat when I see service men and women, and tears down my face when another brother or sister has given there life to this land. Thank you! May God bless you and God bless America.
