The memorial was sponsored by American State Bank.
The proceeds from the sale of the flags at the end of the event will go to benefit the American State Bank Endowed Scholarship for Nursing fund to encourage men and women to enter the nursing profession.

Susie Moore of American State Banks said, "There is such a national shortage of nurses and we are a medical hub, sitting right in the middle of Albuquerque and Dallas. We have an excellent School of Medicine and School of Nursing at our University, plus some phenomenal hospitals and specialists. So we need more nurses to handle the influx of people who come here for medical care."

We will be selling the flags for $25 and commemorative tee shirts for $5. Proceeds will go to nursing scholarships to help with the critical shortage of nurses we now face.

After 9-11, we hope to offer for sale copies of the video of both the Sept. 10 and 11th ceremonies.
