Veterans Day freebies, discounts: Food, hair cuts, zoo and more

The Hermitage will pay tribute to active military and veterans with a Field of Honor display on its Victory Field property, featuring 1,000 American flags, from Wednesday to Sunday, Nov. 12.

Ahead of Veterans Day, the Hermitage will be displaying 1,000 American flags for the Field of Honor event. It’s the second year for the event held at former president Andrew Jackson’s home. The flags will be displayed on the “Victory Field” facing Lebanon Road at Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage.

The second annual Field of Honor® will be held on Veterans Day Weekend. The event will feature 1,000 American flags. All proceeds will go to child abuse prevention efforts, homeless veterans, and other Exchange Club projects benefiting our community and country.

A thousand American flags will cover Victory Field at The Hermitage, the home of Andrew Jackson, in honor of Veterans Day. From Nov. 8-12, the display will honor veterans past and present, but the flags also will help raise money for a local cause.

Today is also the last day to see the Field of Honor at The Hermitage. You’ll find a thousand flags on display in honor of our veterans. It’s free for the whole family to walk through the field that faces Lebanon Road.
