Danville, VA Field of Honor® ~ 2016

June 14 – July 4, 2016
Memorial Drive, Danville, VA 24540

Danville’s 2nd Annual Field of Honor® will be hosted by the Danville Rotary Club as a tribute to River City’s hometown heroes.  Hundreds of United States flags will fly beginning on Flag Day to celebrate Old Glory’s 239th birthday and continuing until Independence Day, which marks the 240th anniversary of American independence.

This formation not only honors the Stars and Stripes, which is the great symbol of our shared values, hopes and aspirations, but recognizes the contributions of personal heroes who have added to our national flag’s  meaning through their positive impact. Whether honoring a teacher, a minister, a grandparent or a friend, each flag represents an individual and tells a story. Sponsor a flag to fly to honor an individual who has touched your life. This is the perfect opportunity to recognize our heroes and to let the entire community know the impact that these heroes have had.

As visitors to last year’s event will remember, a Field of Honor® display is an experience hard to describe, but not to be forgotten. We invite all to walk with us among the ordered rows of flags. The display is open to all without charge. Don’t miss it!
