The Butte Exchange Club will be host the 2011 Field of Honor where you will behold a beautiful display of 1000 of U.S. flags with the Highland Mountains and the Belmont Mine Headframe as a backdrop. This community event will take place during the Montana Folk Festival from July 7 to 10, 2011.
These 3’X5’ flags will stand 8’ tall in perfect rows. This living display of heroism will fly as a temporary patriotic tribute to the strength and unity of Americans, fallen servicemen and women; currently serving military; veterans; first responders; law enforcement, personal heroes and victims of child abuse in Montana.
You may Sponsor or Buy one or more flags. Your flags will be tagged with your name and the name of your honoree. Your commemorative tags may be picked up on July 10. Flags that are purchased may be picked up after 2:00pm on July 10 or they will be shipped to the address you provide below (Continental US addresses only).
With the help of the entire community, the open field next to the Belmont Mine Headframe will be transformed into a sea of red, white and blue as volunteers gather to set up the flags for display. Service clubs, businesses, veteran’s organizations, and all other civic groups are encouraged to volunteer as teams to help staff the Field of Honor display. This is the perfect opportunity for your organization to participate in community wide event.
Individuals or families are also welcome to volunteer. Volunteers of all abilities, ages and skills will also be needed for many other tasks. Volunteers must be 13 years of age unless with a supervised group. Volunteers will be needed through July 6 through July 10.
